Dr. Amanda Houk

DVM

For over 12 years, my first dog, Princess, was my best friend and confidant. From a young age, I recognized the profound bond between people and their pets, and by the time I was 10, I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. This early understanding fueled my passion for veterinary medicine, and I spent my high school years volunteering at local veterinary clinics and animal shelters, further solidifying my commitment to this profession.

I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. My career began in Emergency Medicine in Ann Arbor, where I honed my skills and deepened my love for both animals and the people who care for them. After several years in emergency care, I decided to transition to general practice in Holt, Michigan, with the goal of fostering deeper, more meaningful relationships with both my patients and their families.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have achieved my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian and am honored by the trust my clients place in me. I deeply value the long-term relationships I build with my clients as we work together to ensure their pets receive the highest standard of care, always with kindness, compassion, and respect.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at home with my 2 year old daughter, Emma as well as my four dogs—Bruce, Wilma, Bam Bam, and Pebbles. You might also find me at the local gym with my husband, Tom. Whenever possible, I love to take an annual getaway to a warm destination to recharge.

Hi! My name is Geri, I look forward to being the welcoming face when you first come into our hospital. I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 1985! I have spend most of my years in small animal practice. I was the first student to do an externship at the Detroit Zoo! I will never forget those experiences. When I am not enjoying myself at work, I am spending time with my husband, three grown children and their spouses, and my 4 grandchildren. I love my 3 greyhounds, schnoodle, poodle and our 18 year old cat. I feel so very blessed to be part of this clinics family and I can honestly say I work with the best group of people and we have the best clients and patients around!

Caitlin LVT

Ever since I was little, I knew working with animals was my calling. I’ve always been drawn to them—some of my favorite movies growing up (and still today!) are The Aristocats and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

I graduated in May 2025 from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in veterinary nursing. In September of that year, I began working at Willoughby. The team here has been incredibly supportive as I start my career as a new LVT, and I’m excited to continue learning and growing alongside them.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and spending time with my two cats, Cowboy and Bowie. I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies!
